Our Youth Accounts are tailored to nurture financial literacy, which is an excellent way for your children to start their financial journey. The benefits of learning how to save at an early age can last a lifetime!
Open a Youth Account (Under Age 17):
A minor’s first account (under age 17) will be a custodial Youth Account. It takes just $5 to open the account and help lay the foundation of healthy savings habits. Fort Billings wants to fuel the excitement and reward the efforts of our youth, so will match the first $5 deposit to boost that initial deposit!
Transition to Independence (Age 17)
At age 17, a custodial Youth Account can be converted to a regular Savings Account with a free ATM Card, as long as a parent is present. Individuals can also come in independently to open an account without a parent, with a $5 deposit and access to an ATM Card. It’s an excellent step towards financial independence under the guidance of Fort Billings FCU!
Reaching Adulthood (Age 18):
Your child is ready to open a Checking Account with a free Debit Card at 18 and enjoy full membership benefits and perks.
Family Eligibility:
If your child doesn’t have an account yet, they’re eligible through you! This is a valuable opportunity to engage your entire family, including your kids, grandkids, nieces, or nephews, with our supportive banking services.
Let’s build a financially savvy future together!
